Dr. Billie K. Winter is the owner of Companion Pet Care. She graduated from the Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2001. Prior to that, she earned a BS in Chemical Engineering from the University of Oklahoma and a PhD in Bioengineering from the University of Washington. She did cancer research for several years before deciding to become a veterinarian. She has special interests in oncology and feline medicine, but she loves working with dogs and other small mammals, too!
Dr. Winter and her husband live in Vermont, and have three dogs and "way too many" cats. In her spare time, she plays clarinet with the St. Johnsbury Town Band and the Northeast Kingdom Symphony Orchestra as well as directing the choir at Christ the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Barre, VT. Dr. Winter no longer has much free time to spend riding her bright yellow motorcycle, since she and her husband recently adopted 2 toddlers, Anna and William, from China!
